COME ON WHERE IS IT?!!

Post by ravinhood »

I thought Erik said TWO days ago this would be ready for release "tomorrow"!! Did he just mean that the updated feature list would be on the main website with that tomorrow statement? I can't believe I'm actually looking forward to a released game. It's been years I think since something of this nature has inspired me to follow it to release. But, these are the guys of KOIOS and although PC:OWS was ok it wasn't up to the standards I expected of them after having played Tin Soliders:Caesar. I'm really anxious to try out that Random Campaign Generator feature. This looks to be the 3D version of Steel Panthers and Combat Mission Campaigns combined to me. I've always wanted a more isometric or 3D look to Steel Panthers. I hope all the historical content of SP is in this game ......is it? I think that is another reason Steel Panthers has been around so long, not only is it a great game, but, great for historical content reading as well. I don't know how many hours I spent studying and reading about the different units, vehicles etc within the game and comparing statistics. Hopefully Kharkov will stand the test of time and playability as well. ;)
WE/I WANT 1:1 or something even 1:2 death animations in the KOIOS PANZER COMMAND SERIES don't forget Erik! ;) and Floating Paratroopers We grew up with Minor, Marginal and Decisive victories why rock the boat with Marginal, Decisive and Legendary?

Er, nope - I said the official announcement (i.e. the press release announcing the game, with info and screenshots) would be out tomorrow. A delay in some of the production art has pushed that back to Monday.

The actual release date is likely to be more like mid-March, which is what I posted on another thread here. We're just making sure we have the manuals in stock in all warehouses and in the meantime adding some more content and polish.

I'm very glad to hear your excitement - I promise you it's really not much longer!

As soon as the production art is done, that will also show up. I expect you'll see it there by Monday.

Just curious if we'll see an announcement today some time? Thanks.

Yep - the annoncement should go out tonight (note, this means announcing the game officially, NOT releasing it). There should be some screenshots, a short video and some more info.

Thanks. I understood the announcement was not the actual release.

i am so looking forward to World in flames for that reason. it looks to be the best visual encyclopedia of WWII I have ever seen. If you have not been to that thread and looked through some of the stuff they are putting together, you should. I think they were very smart to get all that free work from the very motivated fan base. it is adding extra value beyond anything I have seen in a game. I would pay $100 just for that! if it can actually play World in flames on top if it, well...wow.

Yeah tucosn I've always enjoyed wargames that put as much historical information about the battle/war into the game. If WIF is doing that I'll look forward to it as well. I think it's an excellent way to get some young people into enjoying history more. I know in school when we got to the wars I made straight A's lol and I think a lot of that had to do with what history I gained out of playing AH/SPI wargames. ;) I can only imagine how much the Civilization game helped some in school since it was released.

It's Wednesday for cryin out loud...you said this week Erik.....are you going to wait until FRIDAY? It's gonna take me probably 2 more weeks after release to get my copy from NWS anyways, but, the sooner you release it the better for me. ;) How long would it take to download it on dialup? ;) Hrmmm I wonder if I could use my Library computer to download it and burn it to a disc do libraries allow that sort of stuff? How long would it take on a Library computer usually?

Aren't you the same guy that

a) NEVER buys a game until it's on its second patch,

and

b) NEVER pays full price for a game?

BTW, rumor has it that PzCK will be on the list of Matrix sale items available for Xmas, 2010.

Nah, I'm not hatin' on RH.

I'm just having trouble adjusting to his new-found exhuberance for unpatched, full-priced games, is all.

Yes that's me, but, these guys are from Texas and we all know Texans don't make anything bad only BIGGER and BETTER. ;) And don't even think about using that "I thought the only thing to come out of Texas were steers and you know what come back on me. ;)
I trust Deride to do things right the FIRST time around. ;) Oh I expect a few LITTLE bugs, but, not like a RTW/M2TW or a Paradox game(pick any one) lol.

Besides after 5 years of stickin it to em and NOT buying games full retail and out of the box I'm entitled to a lil splurge. ;)

Oh btw I just picked up "Sid Meiers Railroads" for $2.98 off of Amazon.com last week. ;) SO I ain't totally lost my touch. ;)

Add me to the list of folks starting to think ravinhood is making a lot of sense recently ;)

But -- a Sid Meiers game for $3 -- what an absolute steal.
