1948 NFL Uniforms
Gentlemen, (term used verly loosely)
I have posted the uniforms and common folder for my 1948 NFL MaxFB league.
The league as I have it setup is semi-historical. Their are teams I have included that didn't exist in 1948. It's my game so in my world they existed. In addition to the "real teams" uniforms, I include All Star uniforms for post/pre season play. Until the early 70's, the NFL champion would play a College All Star team to start the schedule of pre-season games. That's why the College All Stars uniform is posted. I also have East & West All Stars uniforms for the Pro Bowl.
I will post the league data base and playbooks soon.

I think you can copy it into the MaxFB game folder and then when you go into the game, choose League Game and it you should get a message that a new league has been detected.
Recently, I had to get a new hard drive for my PC. Before I took it in for service, I archived tons of stuff on CD's and flash drives. After I reinstalled MaxFB, I copied my league databases to the MaxFB folder. The game recognized them and took them in. They work fine. I have Access 1997 and that allows me to work with my league files.

old coach , hate to bug you just 2 quick questions about your league . Iwas thinking of installing it and adding another conference or league like the AAFC from the 40`s. I Was wondering would it be better ideal to start season with what you have then at end of season add all the new teams , or think can i add at beginning. . Secondly , i noticed all stuff you have in your commons folder . Like sleves and such .Almost all those numbers for sleeves i`m using in other leagues . This sound stupid can i change numbers to like s58.skin and onwards , plus do your helmets have mask , and if not what needs to be done make sure no mask show. Guess thats 3 questions.

First of all, before you do anything with the league, wait until version 2.2 is available and then download it. That version will allow you to reset the league without losing the rosters and depth charts.
1) I think you can reset the league and then that should allow you you add teams. I've not tried that myself, but other testers have and I think that works.
2) Yes, you can change the skins/sleeves numbers to whatever you need. What I do is I have different commons folders for each of my leagues. I have them archived in a folder outside my MaxFB game folder. They are named 1948NFL Common, CFL Common, etc. When I want to use a folder in the game, I copy it into the game and then rename it Common. The common folder I was previously using is put back in the archives.
3) The 1948 NFL Common folder has 1 folder for face masks. When you look insdie the folder you'll see that all the face masks are blank pink- no face masks show up in game.
Hope this helps,

Old Coach,
I've been playing around with adding sleeves to the uniforms in my Metro Football League. (I love the classic long sleeve uniforms) However, I notice that there is a band of color around the player's neck when sleeves are added. Have you found a way to remove or minimize that or is it just something that has to be lived with?

No, I haven't been able to remove that and at one time I spent several hours trying. It has something to do with how the bitmaps are applied to the player model. I don't understand how that works at all. David would be the guy to explain that one. I resigned myself to ignore it.

Nice website!
One of these days, I hope I can put together my own website. I just have no idea how to get started.

I have some 1940 era college uniforms that I'll post over at FBMAX. I had to replace my hard drive and some of my uniform art didn't get archived, but I'll see what I have readily available. I have some leather helmet templates that you can have. I'll put together a package of those and post them to FBMAX also. I'll try to post that stuff tonight.
The colleges I have ready to go are:
Tennessee, Army, Alabama, LSU, Tulane, Navy, Michigan, Stanford, Duke, West Virginia, Oklahoma State, Oklahoma, Texas, Boston College
Below is 1940 Tennessee away & home.
These teams make up my 1940 Bowl teams + Army & Navy.

RE: 1948 NFL Uniforms
I have a library of Tennessee football films on VHS and DVD. My oldest film is a B&W 1928 Tennessee game vs Vanderbilt. The oldest color film is a 194o game against LSU. The color in that one is faded somewhat. I have 2 color films form 1946 and the color in them is very good.

Ok. No problem. I've been slowly adding the long sleeves to my teams and they look great. That's why I enjoy fictional play and MF. You can add the classic with the new and it works.
