Unit icon visibility options on the map

Post by kenwolfe »

Hello. I have a question about the Unit Visiblity option on the Control Panel. It appears to toggle between four different options:
1. units invisible
2. units visible
3. command radius of some HQs and artillery are shown as white circles
4. command radius of all HQs and artillery are shown as red or black circles

My questions are:
(1) Option 3 is flagging only certain HQs. Does this indicate a particular status? Out of supply perhaps?
(2) In Option 4 the command radius of most HQs and the fire radius of artillery units are shown as red circles, but some are shown in black. Do the ones in black have any particular meaning?

I looked in the manual for this information but did not find anything. Thanks in advance for your help.

Thank you. The "What's new" section in most games is usually just short bullet-points with little description... I certainly should have checked, this one has a great deal of detail! Also I was not aware that the tutorial scenarios had such detailed accompanying documentation. I will not ask any more questions until I finish what I should have done in the first place: carefully read the entire What's New file and work through all the tutorial documentaiton and scenarios.

Change That!

Always ask questions, especially when you get to playing any of the scenarios! Things change once the 'scenario designers' get their hands on the variables!

One thing about the 'scenarios': you can read much just by opening a scenario in 'word' or similar....

Questions are a good thing, and we invite them! Feel free to use the 'open forum', eh?

Kurt speaks the truth. My pointing Ken toward the Whatsnew was not to dissuade him from asking questions, but rather to inform him of another source of information. Since he was obviously quite diligent in reading the manual, I figured he would appreciate and make use of the resource...[;)]

In addition to the manual and the What's New, don't forget the FAQ:
