Multiplayer maps I wish someone would make us

Post by Fallschirmjager »

I have done some thinking and have wondered if anyone would like to make a special series of multiplayer maps?

Most RTS (starcraft C&C and the like) games have maps where the terrain is consturcted and both sides have equal map advanteges.
If enough of you are interested ill put a message on the main board asking some of the vetern scenario makers to whip us up some (im sure they would be glad to).

Say 2 players have to take a hill

Both have the same creeks, bridges, roads, trees everything
very unrealistic but very intense and fun I think.

Urban, hill taking, 2 rivers with briges with victory hexes on an island in the middle for meeting engagements (id really like to see these). the possibilities are endless.

Many of us play PBEM and TCIP and would love to see these maps.

Thanks

The most common way to avoid terrain inequities is to 'mirror' games; ie: play 2 games with the same settings, with the players switching sides for the second game. Total of both game scores is the winner.

It has been done before, with pretty good success, Parachute man!

Of course, here as always the fortunes of war intervene even in totally equal terrain on both sides.

I've done a couple of them in the past. I even did one where both human players fought the AI, one at the top of the map, the other at the bottom, both pushing from right to left.

They did not fight each other, since they were on the same side but fought an AI opponent with equal opposition. It turned out to be a lot of fun.

Now there is a challenge. Which ones are the best, the Brits or the Yanks, the Aussies or the French?...Kind of fun

It wouldn't help in this case. I did them for SP, the original. I don't even know if I kept the scenario.

Guess I'll have to try it in SPWAW, which is much better suited for this kind of thing with longer maps and multiplayer capabilities.
