Ingame graphics

Post by Frido1207 »

I have two more noob questions: (sorry, if this has been asking before)
1. All the ingame graphics are quiet blurred. Is there a way that I can make them more clear & sharp?
2. How can I change the color of the players name on the jersey?

Any help would be much appreciated.
thx in advance

What actually do you mean by "Blurred"? Can you post a screen shot? It's possible that you have your graphics card set up to force a high level of Anisotropic filtering.

In the Home and Away folder for a team, there can be placed a file called 'namecolour.txt'
It's a simple text file, use notepad to edit it.
In that file is where you can edit the name color.
It uses the RGB code for a color, for example 255,255,255 is white and 0,0,0 is black

If there is no namecolour.txt, I think the default is black for away and white for home
Here is a good site with the codes

In your Max Football folder (C/Matrix Games/MaximumFootball) There is an icon that looks like an artists pallet. Click on that, choose your color (or colour if you are canadian[;)]) and save it to the teams Home or Away folder.

Wow, thanks to you both for the fast reply.

@ David:
sorry for not beeing precise: I mean the "blured" effect on logos & endzone art. Please watch below. I have to apologize, but I´m a technological illiterate.
Left side of the picture shows the logo as it appears ingame, right side shows the original bmp file.

@gary:
many thanks for your nice help.

Marauders has found the scent, I think.

The game engine is either upsizing or downsizing your image, causing the distortion. It can't handle resizing like Paint Shop Pro or Photoshop, and you see the results...That's my best guess, anyways.

Yes, that's very likely. The games graphics must be the same as those shipped or you're going to get resizing artifacts like this. The primary logo is 256*256. Taking a guess, based on how your have your images displayed there, your graphics are about 250*247..which means they're being stretched.
