Stuck in Chunking!

Post by dethbass »

Hello all,

I'm playing a campaign game (scen. 15, japs) against the AI. We're early december 1942 and I took Chunking about 2 weeks ago. Now it seems that all the troops that took Chunking are stuck there. I cannot move them out. As soon as I do, they revert to "no move" the next day/turn. Is this normal? Has anybody seen that before?

I'm usig latest patch (1.806 I believe it is)

Thx,
/Bass

Proof that China is indeed a quagmire for the Japanese. [;)]

sorry, I don't have an answer to your question, though I wonder if it has something to do with chinese replacements giving the hex allied ownership, preventing your troops from moving from one enemy controlled hex to another... this is mere conjecture, however.

It's to do with supply. See page 188 of the manual. Leave them for a few truns to accumulate supply then try.

I think there is a bug here. Try ordering your units to march to another friendly base hex rather than marching into the countryside and the forces should move.

I already tried to leave them there until the supply catches up (goes back to the white zone). Didn't work. I tried moving to both Chinese and Jap-controlled hexes, with one units, multiple units or all units, but none of this work.

I think that this could be a bug. I do see units "appearing" from out of nowhere in Chunking itself every few turns. Of course they are kicked out as soon as they do, with the huge Jap force I have there [:)]. It is still annoying though, as that speels the end of my offensive there :-(

Did you use a friendly BASE hex as your destination?

I moved them out with no problem in a PBEM under the latest patch. I agree with setting a friendly base with a clear ZOC path as their destination.

Finally I was able to move the troops again after something like 3 weeks of having them stuck. I guess it was a supply thing then :-P

Thx for the replies,

Troops can also refuse to move from a supplied base if morale is low. I find some units will move and others will not.

Watch out for the ghost Chinese units that appear after Chungking falls. They are harmless if you ignore them but they will cause casualties if you try to attack them. It is a known bug
