Magazine Reload Time

Post by miller7219 »

Hi. Looks like magazine use got an overhaul in the latest patch. Very excited about this!

I'm assuming the magazine reload time is in minutes...so if I want a mount to take 10 minutes to reload I put 10 in the PE beside the weapon entry in the magazine?

Also, are their any hiccups or quirky issues with magazine use that database enthusiasts should be aware of...words of wisdom???

RE: Magazine Reload Time

Yes, both Brad and Rene really did a lot of work with magazines in their databases, the actual code behind magazines has not improved.

Reload time is indeed in minutes.

Big magazine quirk...

The reload time would best be stated as the time to reload however many open spots there are on the mount for that weapon.  As an example, if you use two missiles from the mount and the reload time is 10, 2 those two missiles will be up on the mount 10 minutes after the reload starts.  On that same mount if you used 8 missiles, you would have 8 missiles up on the mount 10 minutes after the reload starts, so it isn't a time per missile, it is a time to refill the mount (pretty obviously not the ideal behavior).  That's the biggest gotcha I know of on the topic of magazines.  Brad or Rene may have more since they deal with them often.
