This is something that is sorely needed IMHO. In fact, if you could import the entire database (not the map) from a text file or files that would speed things up by an order of magnitude.

Agreed. I haven't toyed around much with the event system, but the event scripting is IMO one of the greatest strengths of AT.  At the moment, each event in each scenario has to be entered manually and using the internal "construction kit" can be cumbersome; importing them from a file would speed things up a lot. Most of all because you could write most of your event code in a text editor. The problem might be that importing event code would also require some kind of syntax verification. I'm not sure how much work that would be.

You can import events by setting the scenario you want to import from as the masterfile.  The only challenge is that this will import everything (sftypes, loctypes, etc...).

It would be nice to have a cut and paste option to cut from one scenario and then load a new scenario that you are working on and pasting an event into it.

There is a lot of going from one scenario that perhaps Tom has done, writing the event code down or printing it out and then typing it up manually in the new scenario.

Perhaps in an updated version or AT2?

Importing from a masterfile doesn't really help. It is the ability to bypass the editor that is needed. Using it to enter a lot of data/events is very slow. In my case it is physically painful too, due to carpals in the old mouse hand. Data entry tools should always be keyboard orientated.

When I'm doing much in the event editor, I also find myself wanting to cut and past multiple lines, either from another file or from a text file.

BUT, when I first started with events in the editor, the very controlled mechansim of the editor kept me from mkaing quite a few mistakes (I still made some, but not nearly what I would have made otherwise). So, while I'd like the ability, I also really appriceiate the care that went into buildig a fairly tight screw-up proof event editor.

I am planning to add free scripting to one of the future AT games. At the moment everybody will have to preservere. On the positive side current state of things makes you keep your events short and thus relativly clean and readable!
