RHSEBO Testing and Eratta and Plan

Post by el cid again »

I did a detail examination of RHSEBO - and in general it is very pleasing - but of course I did find some eratta or enhancement possibilties.
All of which I simply recorded for futrue use - until I found that I had killed the Yamato. Seems it will never appear because it is assigned to a tack force that cannot have it. Hmm - let me try a workaround. Nope - make that never never.

So I will issue a file update for EBO only - 7.796 - and it will not be today - as am going to work. Post any eratta or things you think we might change here - and I will work them in - or at lease review the matter.

The main things I will change make it easier for players to do a first turn: set planning right for example.

If the Japs are too overwhelming, one might think about the Miles M.20? If the Japs were an even bigger threat, it might have entered mass production?

Why? It was a very bad aircraft.

Yes it was.
But compared with the Hurricane, it was as fast or faster (depends on version), had the same armement with more ammo, afaik more agility and moreover, it had by far more range and was cheaper, too...
As it was built mainly of wood, it might be built in bigger numbers...

It is hard to believe they could build more of them - because the limiting factor is probably engine production. And it is hard to rationalize greater aircraft production at all - UK was running all out - and you cannot get more than all. Finally - there is the problem of ETO issues - and the second priority of the Far East. Even famine in India was not grounds to send food - which was available. British management is not going to pay much attention to the Far East until it is secure in Europe. Ultimately that is right: the primary obligation of any government is survival and survival at its heartland should be first priority. Since that did NOT result in that production - and since we have no slots - this is pretty much settled.

The only significant thing here is that IJN Yamato will appear at start.
[In the EBO form - with 16 inch guns]

All else is minor enhancements to planning.

Unless something else is found which is wrong there won't be more updates for a while.

Maybe a long while.
