US Start - New patch

Post by OG_Gleep »

Does anyone have a savegame for SP with the newest patch for the start of the Full Campaign?

Was watching Battle 360, got the urge to load it up, and remembered how much work it is setting up all the supply chains and reconfiging the task groups and setting up flight ops for the first time.

Anyhow, need the US side if anyone has one.

SP meaning exactly?
The game is not completely set up for anything as reinforcements are constantly arriving so at the start of a campaign game there is almost nothing to do so what large amount of work are you looking to avoid?  Different campaign scenarios depict different situations and different players set their forces to different tasks.  If you're looking for total historical accuracy maybe you should set everything yourself to be exactly the way you'd like it to be as it only takes a matter of minutes to do.

SP= Single Player

From what I remember for each new game for scen 17? The historical full campaign, there is a standard setup...1st turn orders. The base-hop supply trains...which is extensive, setting up task forces (identifying destroyers and CA's to put into task forces alone takes a bit).

These are pretty standard. I used to have a save game that I'd load up instead of repeating these tasks. Later I setup the 1st turn airwar and started using that, as I would make small adjustements. Most of the Airgroups should be doing the same thing every game, as only a few need to be adjusted.

Its no where near the work as WITP, but all the same. I got the idea from other people back in 03? Anyhow its no biggie. Was asking just incase anyone had one laying around to save a bit of time. I don't even know if you can load up someone elses.

Ahhh...I didn´t know there was a standard setup first turn for scenario 17 back then. I wasn´t around. But if there was I´d think with all the patches sence 03 it would be a good idea to read over them because what was standard then maybe not standard now and go ahead and run your own first turn.

Thats a good point.

I didn't want to give the impression that there was a blueprint for 1st turn, there was a couple of things that were posted on the forum that worked really well, like the supply train(network of transports - TF brining in supplies to a base, while another takes supllies out and drops it off at another base).

I'm still missing it.  The Allies at the start of scenario 17 have almost nothing.  Based on that what is so difficult to do for the historical set up that you desire?  If it take 5-10 minutes to do the first Allied turn what's the big deal?  None of us who play the game follow the historical aspect of the what and where for individual units other than their start points on the map.

My only point is that even if it takes you 30 minutes, why not do it yourself so that things are set exactly the way you want them?

It took me 2 hours to get everything set the way I want it. Now that I have done it though, it will take me 5-10 minutes to make changes in additional games to try different openings.

The more you play UV the quicker you find yourself doing things.
