Re-install game

Post by simmer »

I just uninstalled the very first game and I want to re-install it, what versions do I install. I'm lost with the many patches that I have. Do I have to re-install the very first Beta version. If so where do I retrieve it from.

Based on your reports and problems you're experiencing it really sounds like Windows itself is in dire need or being wiped out and reinstalled. Not being able to view the properties of a Windows folder, not being able to find files through Windows Explorer, not being able to run Windows Installer (that's what's used to install directx files), those are a few symptoms that tell me your Operating System is failing (or starting to fail) in a substantial way.

At this point I would suggest taking a step back and reinstalling Windows first so that you have a stable platform to install software (any software, not just the game) on to.

Maybe someone has some other advice/suggestions, but that's what it sounds like to me.

thanks
David
