Gem - those things are all well and nice, but I've seen a few applications enjoy only a modest increase on the new machine due to their not being optimized for multi-cpu setups.

I'm happy to say that WitP flies on new hardware.  2x as fast.

I have a nice new computer with a 3.0GHz dual core CPU and XP - I can now lose CVs at least 5 times faster than before. [:D]

Alright, good to hear. But, not to toot my own horn, but I'm a computer hardware/overclocking junkie and believe me, your new PC to your old PC is like riding a bicycle to work and now driving a car to work, HUGE difference in performance my friend.
It doesn't make any sense, Admiral. Were we better than the Japanese or just luckier?
