Allied Ship Comparison

Post by OG_Gleep »

I forgot who made this spreadsheet, but it is one of my favorite docs for UV for the US.

While searching for some answers for other topics, I ran across a thread I had posted in 2003 when I got back into the game. I hadn't saved the spreadsheet (I reformatted a lot back then), and I put out a request for anyone that had it as it wasn't upped to Spooky's (I remembered how desperate I was when I posted it hehe). I found it and posted a link to the thread the creator had posted, but now it leads to dead links.

Anyhow, its a good document, and it orginizes things quite well, and gives "best role" for DD's as well as includes a table below the "standard" (Class stats) info that lists each ship and the class it belongs to.

The nice thing about this doc, as apposed to the other one on Spooky's is its layout. Most of the info is located on one screen, so you don't have to scroll much and can make comparisons quickly. If things are listed vertically, you have to memorize the stats, scroll down, compare it, scroll up to double check you got it right, scroll down agian etc. etc.

Anyhow, thought I'd offer to e-mail it to anyone who wanted it. I would give the OP credit if I could remember his name. If anyone was around in 2002 you would probably recognize this doc. Hopefully someone can give the creator the credit he deserves as this is simply the best doc I have used.

*Edit*

Oh yes. Must mention one of the best ideas he had. When he included the names of each ship under the class header, he posted the pre-upgrade AA value for each ship the comes in w/o being upgraded. Really nice.

Why don't you post a link for us?
Todd

I never thought that doing an AAR would be so time consuming and difficult.

I don't have the ability to host xls and I didn't think the site supported it. Happy to send it someone so they can host it.

Has anybody ever entered the Japanese ships into a similar database?

Not that I remember. The guy who made it was an allied player. Atleast not like that. Everything Jap related I recognize on spooky's. Might be others tho.
