Consider also something like trymedia.com so it becomes possible to try before buy. That would increase
my purchases at least.

I would like a little medal to display on the forum....but I'm easily satisfied....and maybe, come to think of it, rather sad.

We actually gave that a try internally and decided against it because it uses a form of DRM that we felt some customers would object to. In order to make it possible for the game to be tried out and then "activated" to a full version it has to wrap it in some pretty strong copy protection, which goes against our standard and simple serial number system. We've also heard from others that there are compatibility issues associated with this type of system, which I'll believe given that our long passed experiences with other copy protection systems created plenty of support issues.

Well at least you are looking into something
Are there others that might be acceptable perhaps? With todays advanced encryption techniques they can be made safe.

A fun little game, that one. Some of its excellent ideas deserved a slightly more meaty overall package, maybe.
With the possible exception of the sports games nothing other than 'pure' wargames seems to do that well here, really. Even that seems limited to WW2 (and no apologies for moaning about that again).. Tin Soldiers and Flashpoint Germany (two of the four best Matrix products IMHO, the others being the Panther games and WitP) are conspicuous by their absence from most of those lists as well.

Woooow I'm amazed by how many matrix games some of you have [&o][&o][&o][&o]
Next question is how do you find time to play with them [:D][:D][:D]
I'm beggining to think I was born ten years earlier than I should have had, no internet when I was single and with lots of time, then problem was money [;)][;)]
Anyway my list is no near as long as yours:
GG World at War
GG A World Divided
Commander Europe at War
GG War Between The States (beta tester) coming soon [:)]
Definitely I have to increase it [8D], I've seen some good titles I wouldn't mind having.

Yes, i agree it's werid at least that a game like witp (which is a kind of Matrix's flagship) isn't included in all those lists....
But this makes me think about a strange fact that i've always found strange.
I've heard many "well acknowleged" people in these formus saying that witp is far from being a Matrix's BestSellers...that there are many games by MAtrix which sold a lot more...but then again i cannot understand why the Witp forum is absolutely (hands down) the most followed forum among all these matrix's forums...
So the question is: which relationship exists between numbers of sold copies and "forum success"??

I don't understand your question. The choice of "which" requires at least an outline of what the choices are to chose between.
Are you asking "which" without offring a list of choices, or are you really asking "what" relationship exists, which allows for speculation?

Sorry for the bad use of english grammar. I meant "what". Speculation, not a choice between two alternatives.
Sorry

I agree, I wonder which are the best selling Matrix games. It would be interesting whether the interest in the WitP forum is reflected in sales or whether the quiet majority just bought Supermacy: Four Paths to Power and are still sitting there playing it madly with no time left to go on the forum. P.S your Italian is vastly superior to my English [&:]

I thought I knew what you were looking for and I did not mean to disparage you in any way in light of the fact that English is likely not your primary language.
I will venture to speculate.
I believe the reason why the WitP forum may get a far higher utilization than the forums for other games, that may well be selling just as well if not better then WitP, is the strong facilitation of player vs. player via PBEM.
This feature has lead to a vibrant community of gamers who use the forum for general communication about the game.
Many of Matrix's other titles have no PBEM, or have live internet play capabilities that the "gamer" community has yet to embrace on the scale they have with PBEM.
In addition many are purchased and played solo which is not conducive to heavy forum traffic.
All this may point to the fact that forum king may not be the sale leader.

RE: Which Matrix Games Do You Own?
Hi All,
In reality the relationship between copies sold and forum activity is probably random. That is that you may have a game that sold a large number of copies and the buyers are mostly lurkers and not posters. Or vice versa.
Also there is sometimes a small number of very dedicated players who post a lot. If you look at the witp forum you will see that many, many posts are from the same group of people who obviously love the game.
I am checking this post because I am nosy and want to know what games others bought.
Regards John
