Soviet South sent to AGN - The river East of Kiev is keeping the Axis forces at bay at the moment although the Axis have amassed a huge army west of the river ready for a massive push. Minor losses this turn include some aircraft and a few troops. Production centres have been shellled again. Axis southern forces are pressing towards the Dnper but have so far met none of my forces.

Turn 8 to Giacomo.

Fierce house to house combat in the northern half of Leningrad as the Finns, aided by a German infantry division retake the conscription grounds.

Elsewhere, Kuchler, Hoepner, and Busch all brush aside Soviet rearguards in their axes of attack. Leningrad is in the jaws of the wolf and he is a hungry beast.

Turn to AGS.
The cenral plains are  desolate.
While few men,legislators or otherwise,
have felt downthe years they could command ships of the line or marshall air armies without specialized training, almost
any fool has felt in his heart that he could command a regiment.

AGS turn 8 done, sent to Soviet NW.

Germans have crossed the Dnieper in force immediately south of Kiev and have also taken Cherkassy further south on the river. More Russian Fighters shot down.

Turn 8 sent to Sov SW Fronts.

I don't see the loss of Leningrad as awful news. Really production in this scenario is only a sliver of actual starting strength so it's more important to save your army I think. Even without Leningrad Soviet NW Front out-produces German AGN. Over the course of a 5 year war (I really hope we go this long but one side may collapse sooner I guess) Leningrad does produce quite a lot of course - but if it's producing for the Germans the recruitment depot doesn't work at all and the factory produces "Sov" unit types which don't fight well for Germany at all.

Soviet South sent onto AGN. Axis forces have crossed the river near Kiev in force and have started to breakthrough our lines. All Russians are ordered to the area at once and try to plug that gap. Loss of our factories in this area would be a disaster.

Turn 9 to Giacomo (AGC).

Guys, my laptop took a dump on me tonight, and I had to play this one on my desktop, so there will be a wiped log cheat message. Looks like I'm going to have to call the manufacturer tomorrow and get an RMA to send it back in for service, so until further notice, all further turn will be on the desktop.

You're telling me! The worst thing is that when I brought it to work today, so that I could go through the usual "do this, now do that" routine with tech support, the f*cker booted right up. However, yesterday, at home, it decided not to boot up, several times, with the same symptoms it displayed last time the motherboard went out on it...[:(]

AGS turn 9 done, sent to Soviet NW.

The Kiev recruit depot is now in German hands after a large massacre of defending Russian troops, some 150 Russian rifles, mostly Rifle2 were killed for a loss of 15 German Rilfes. In addition a lot of artillery and assorted other troops were eliminated. The Kiev production center is in a desperate situation. Germans have also reached the western edge of Dnepropetrovsk and have taken Nicopolis.

Turn 10 to Giacomo.

AGN has encountered stiff resistance...from Western Front units that have crossed over into the southern areas of the NW Fronts' territory. Elsewhere, the pursuit of NW Fronts' units continues with great loss to the Soviets in terms of men and material.
