Your Harpoon 3 Resolution

Post by rsharp@advancedgamin »

Hey folks,

We're trying to figure out the highest resolution at which the game can be played. We ran into the limits of our monitors pretty quickly so we are asking for you to let us know what the highest resolution you've played the game.

Please let us know in this thread.

1908x1136 in Windowed Mode, so I assume 1920x1200 fullscreen. 24" widescreen monitor.

I currently run at my monitor limit - 1280 X 1024 32 bit.

The current limit (AFAIK) for monitor technology is 2560 X 1600;-

Yes, I know it's an Apple product but it will work with certain PC graphic outputs (many GFX cards won't go that high).

If I had the monitor I'm pretty confident I could run that high. [&o]
I don't work here. I just collect the glasses to get a beer quicker.

2548x1536 Seems to work ok, the sliders in the configuration launcher refuse to go any higher. Any attempt to manually increase the resolution results in the game either resetting it back to 2548x1536 or erroring on load up.

Setting 2560x1600 in the .ini causes Harpoon to error 'Unable to initialize 2560x1600 windowed display mode' before falling back to 1920x1440.

Only the devs will know if this is an actual limit or if Harpoon is restricted to below the monitors maximum reso.

Fullscreen 2560x1600 appears to work fine, although the mouse becomes impossible to use accurately. The sensitivity is very high and non linear and the lag is frustrating.

Try 2560x1570 at the bottom of the .ini file. It needs some vertical room for the menu etc.

Bingo! That worked well. Thank you very much.

It's now effectively fullscreen, apart from 30 pixels off the bottem which the taskbar is taking up, very slick.
