A modern Mod?

Post by Adraeth »

Is it possible to see a modern mod (Nato Vs Warsaw pact forces) for this game?

I like the system this game uses and i think i a modern setting this should be really interesting.

It probably is possible to do almost any armor/infantry battle from 1938 to 1970 or before ATGMs with the current game engine. With the exception of multi-turreted tanks.

If you gp to Mobius' Panzer Wars website, you will see that he has the rules sets for modern war. He and I used that to create a battle with M60s vs T55s (? or T62s). We had to use the 3D models of Panther and T34/85 but someday someone could make 3D models of modern units.

The 1k maps make combat quick and deadly. This will get better when larger maps come about.

I saw the modern rules by Mobius and i think they are really good; in my opinion a game like Panzer Command based on modern units, one like NATO and other one like WARSAW PACT or generic Soviet OPFOR should be really interesting.

I think about a period similar to "Operation Flashpoint", so in the 80s or early 90s... in my opinion there are too many games on WWII (and they are really good and they offer a wide range of games) but for the modern combat the titles are few (i remember CCMT by matrix, SPMBT, CMSF and TacOps).

In the end, i really hope to see a Panzer Command modern war (or even asymettrical war) game
