CONVERT O' WITP'ers!!

Post by SLAAKMAN »

Gentlemen (and ladies if any are present),
I have come here again to remind you to upgrade your magnificent devotion to the genre by converting from WitP to World in Flames. You will still experience the Glory & Victory of naval and island combat that you get in WitP but this time on a global scale. Imagine the thrill of linking up the IJN with German and Italian fleets in the Indian Ocean to engage British, Free French and US forces! The glory is most overwhelming. Convert to World in Flames and relive the majesty!!!! [:D]

As the owner of one of the original print I reckon you are barking up the wrong tree here.

Oh, I will get right on it, I love that game, what's it called again?[;)]
It doesn't make any sense, Admiral. Were we better than the Japanese or just luckier?

Slaakmeister... At first I feared that you were trying to convert us to your religious political party! Now I realize that you are trying to spirit us WITPers away from our beloved forum to a different game forum. Bah!!!!

I might give WIF a try after it comes out, but that will depend upon several factors (such as how many WITP PBEMs I am playing at the time). But I am surely not going to leave the comforts of the WITP forum for one for a game that is still 9 months away...

Let them finish it first... It's been in development for about 5 years, probably has at least 3 more to go...[:D]

Back when Pacific War was current, I had dreams that one day someone would merge a strategic-level game like PacWar with several of the tactical games of the same time period:

-Get a contact that one of my subs found a target? Flip to Silent Service and play it out.

-Naval battle in the Slot? Game goes over to Action Stations or one of the SSI naval simulations.

-Dogfight over Guadalcanal? Same thing, only now you're leading a squadron of Wildcats...

Then I realized this was a dream, and I'd still be playing Turn One two years from now...

Gentlemen, Perhaps youve all misunderstood me. Im not asking you to wait for the Matrix snailer-design-team to finish the comp version. Im urging you to become Shaolin Monks of the WiF Gaming Compound that you all will help me build. A compound that requires your complete devotion and commitment. Slaak off. Quit your jobs, sell your cars and move to the middle of nowhere out in the sticks and shun the rest of the contaminated woyld. With a large complex we could run multiple campaigns of the boardgame versions and have them going forever in perpetuity!!! Imagine the glory of playing 24/7!! (Anyone have caffeine?) CHAAAAAAAAARGE INTO THE GUNFIIIIIRE!!! CHAAAAAARGE!! [:D]

Ah, so it's a religious cult you're founding...[:D][:D][:D] We've got the "going forever in perpetuity" thing down pat already...
