EXTRAS - Funny Location for a Folder

Post by Mraah »

Erik,

Since day one I've noticed that in the Media folder, kharkov_L1A folder contains an extra folder containing file names for destroyed vehicles.

Sure is a funny place to put an extra folder! Is this normal ?

It's not causing any problems.

Rob

That is my work.

Erik asked me to add some destroyed vehicles to that map for extra ambiance.

So this shows any would be modders how to add brand new content to a given map without having to add assets to the main dirs. So this way you can package up your maps as one zip and install or uninstall without affecting anything else in the game.

The game is not dependent on the shipped 3D models for placement on the maps. You can design just about anything you want and place them on the maps with scenedit. If you want to use some of my model work on your own maps then be my guest! (dead tanks, dead men, dead TCs, sewing machines, etc)

Ahhh, very nice ... very nice.

You know, I've had trouble with this feature in Scene Edit ... everytime I cut and paste a new object it places it in the exact location of the where I cut it from. I can add it to the list, but cutting/pasting isn't working for me. There has to be some step I've missed.

Thanks, I'll have to mess with this too!
