Both Sides

Post by Mobius »

Are people playing both sides?
Most of the questions seem to be from the the German point of view. Russian orders and delay are a whole different kettle of fish. They are more difficult to play well as they are less flexible requiring you to think at least another turn ahead.

I’ve usually had to play Russians as most of my friends want to play Germans and you need both sides for a head to head game.

Good point - but to tell the truth, I've only played German side so far. And you're right that does seem to be the side most questions are coming from. I'll have to try the Russain side after I finish the Bootcamp.

Playing german because of more advanced tactics and challenging tank battles (vs. T34's)
Will definitely play Russian eventually.

Yes.... I played Russian's once ... got my butt kicked ... order delay got the best of me! [;)]

I need more practice ... it's like playing chess with your opponent getting two consecutive turns!!

I have always preferred to play the Soviets against the AI.  It provides the AI with the strongest force and me with the biggest challenge.

But I occasionally play the German side for a change of pace.

I play the Germans exclusively. Regrettably, this will not change until the game moves to the Western Front. [:(]

BTW: I'm sure that there's a good reason why Matrix has disabled the "polling" function on it's forums, but I honestly don't understand why the likes of Mobius isn't allowed to post one. It seems like it'd be a great way to quantify customer feedback.

Haven't played that much yet, but will play both sides. Currently playing the Russians on the first "set battle" (not the tutorial!).

Do have a question though: Is there somewhere it shows how many turns a scenario lasts? If so, I can't find it, and if not, could you include it in a patch?

PC does not use turns to end the battle. It uses the points meters on each side of the HUD. The battle ends when one side reaches the top.

There are some battles where the defender starts to get a bonus late in the battle to encourage the attacker to take the objectives quickly.
