Mini Map

Post by z1812 »

Hi All,

I wonder if it bothers anyone else that the minimap shows the opposite direction to the main view. For instance in the main view my forces will be facing north. But on the mini-map they show as heading south.

This seems odd to me. Why not have the mini-map face the same way as the screen?

Regards John

But then they['d have to have the mini-map rotate as you rotate the screen. it bothered me at first then I got used to looking at the fan that shows the camera view on the minimap and it doesnt bother me so much.

As Rick guessed, we figured rotating the mini-map would get pretty confusing. Having a static mini-map is actually a standard convention. If you look, you'll see the "viewpoint" marker on the minimap which shows you where you are looking from. Once you get used to looking for that marker, it should be pretty easy to orient your self.
