WaWv32 vs AI

Post by Delyn Locksmiths »

I'm currently playing WaW32 vs the AI, with no bonuses to the AI. It's April 1940, I've played the france prepared card and british commitment card. Beefed up the Maingot line and built up an armoured reserve. Made a few landings in Kiel, and caused the Lufftwaffe large heavy losses as they bombed the Royal Navy.

Germany has smashed a few weak divisions against the Maignot line and that's it.

Is this scenario suitable for playing as Allies vs the AI? I don't feel Germany is going to get anywhere at the moment. I'm no super player, but I'm competent enough. Do I need to give the AI a bonus? Or should I stick to playing as the Axis?

And if i play as the Axis, can the AI use the france prepared card?

I'd say the World at War scenario of AT - World at War is impossible to lose vs. the AI, regardless of which side you play. See the stickied AAR where bwheatley beat won against AI++, with a 200% bonus for the Allies.

The reason i played with stright AI not AI + is that on random maps, if i give all the Ai's AI + they cane me.

This scenario is marked as AI capable. Should i just not bother with it as a one player game? Or should I stick tot he axis, which means I have to be the agressor? I guess I'll be making all the enemies AI+ now.

You can safely bump up the AI to AI+ or even AI++ with the WAW scenario. The AI play is not as strong with this scenario as it is with Random maps.

I've played AI++ with WAW and defeated the AI without too much difficulty.
I think there are just to many variables in the large WAW scenario for the AI to cope with. It will gve you a pretty good game on AI++ though.
