Can you estimate when the patch will become "official" and be moved to the Support page? I've never been able to access through the Members area. Continue having Log In problems.

Yes, all should have the same version for PBEM.

This may go official as early as tomorrow night, if not then early next week.

Erik, I'm still getting slowdowns after a bit with 1.01d - especially in battles with a lot of units.

It seems like the longer the session has been going, the longer it takes to load the rubber bands and sighted/non-sighted units each time I click on a specific squad of mine.

When I first load it up and click on my squad, it's smooth. But each turn it gets progressively longer to load the sighting/firing info every time I select one. When I save & reload, it's back to smooth again.

Odd, I played through six missions in a row with v1.01d with no reload and had no slowdowns at all. I'll test again tomorrow, in the meantime please double check the date and time on the exes and dlls in your installation folder just to be 100% sure it's v1.01d you're running please.

i dont know if i am totally off track, but i have noticed that after the patch installation that the orders are screwy. in the old version i could always after i selected the hq redirect the other units in the group (halt or rush in a different direction etc), but now it seems when ever i select a unit after ordering the hq that each unit i try to redirect gives that order to all the other units. so i am ending up constantly trying to switch back and forth until i actually cant do much of anything. i dont know if i make sense as its hard to describe.

thx,

himmel

ps: there is more going on here...arty is not showing up anymore either and some of my units are split in half and on opposite sides of the screen, lol. i wonder if it is because i am playing a saved file that i have used before the patch?

Hi Erik!

Are there any plans to allow the game to run even if we do not use the USA date format? I normally have my computer on the European format but have to set it to the USA format everytime I play the game.

Other than that, great game!

I played through all of boot camp as a test with v1.01d yesterday and had no problems at all with purchasing units. Did you have it set on "Hard" difficulty by accident?

Actually, that bug only affected the first time you started the game and yes, it's completely fixed now in v1.01d. All regional settings work fine now.

You may not want to hear this, but the event box is now too opaque. I can't see much through it at all; just a slight hint of something beneath. It might as well not have any translucency b/c it's not nearly translucent enough. Honestly, the original setting was perfect for the intended purpose.

Can't speak to the new font though. I didn't have problems with the old one. (Didn't the poster originally complaining about the event box later say it was with the LOS rubberband font giving problems and NOT the event box anyway?)

If you're intent on making a change, maybe allow the user to set the opacity of the box, like they do in those MMORPGs? Even an instruction in the support forum telling people having a problem how to edit values in a file would work better, IMO.

No I think the original poster talked about the message box, I think I jumped into the discusion and commented that it was much harder for me to read the LOS tool (and it still is). The message box was hard, but not too bad, now it's fine, though it wouldn't bother me a little more transparent. The new font may be marginally better. It's pretty tough to get it right for all terrain and for eveyone with any color blindness.

Glad it's not me trying to please everyone!

<slaps forehead> Erik, I appreciate different views on this. I liked the original one with the original font. I hate to see game feature diminishment. Could you please decide to make one or the other the "default" and then make a patch/mod for the other?

For instance, if you make the original one the default, make a "vision assist" patch for those who report difficulty with it. And if you make the opaque box the default, make a "transparent box" patch for those who prefer it. Pretty please?

I think you'll be miles ahead if you always make any such improvements as options. You're going to need to expand the option panel quite a bit, but that's just to price for success. Also I'd like to see the options available while in game without going back to the main menu.

Oh, did I say that you're doing an exceptional job?

We decided to let 1.01 simmer a bit longer. 1.01e should be out tomorrow for weekend play and a definite official release next week.
