Barges & other smaller ships

I've always thought that these are the types of ships that should re-spawn where the database has 30 or so and will re-spawn if the their number falls below a certain number and if Japanese, still have production points.

I real don't see why Japan or Allies would ever run out of barges, PT/MTB, MSW and other small ships/crafts.

Has anything changed in AE or the editor with re-spawning?

It's a small point but the process for barges is replacing.

We consider respawn to be generation of a new ship in a new slot, with the original ship remaining and therefore available for display in the sunk ship list.

Barges replace themselves when sunk. The exact same ship the exact same slot just comes back in a couple of months. There are no barges listed in the sunk ship lists.

Better terms are out there, I am sure, but the "replacement" of sunken barges is not affected by the setting of the Respawn control. It always happens, so we don't have to put in another 100,000 ship slots for barges, LCVPs, etc.

Could you give more info on which ships will be "replaced" in this way?
Will modders be able to add or remove ships types from this list or is it hard coded?
