Not able to unzip the game (now solved)

Post by Umlaut »

Hi
I´ve just purchased and downloaded PCK, but when I try to unzip the folder (PanzerCommandKharkov-SetupRelease-v100DR), my zip-programme seems to freeze/crash (the unpacking indicator never moves) It does place an unzipped icon on the desktop (PanzerCommandKharkov-SetupRelease-v100DR), but when I click on it, I just get the message: "Archive integrity check failed. The setup file is not complete, possibly due to an incomplete download or corrupted file".

Now please don´t just ask me to redownload, because there´s another problem: When I try to redownload I get this message:
"Message 99998 - To protect ourselves against fraud, we need to set a cookie on your computer. In order to continue your purchase online, please reset your browser to allow cookies. You can make your purchase and then set cookies off again in your browser. If you already allow cookies, there may be a problem that can be corrected by deleting the cookie file. 20009SC01"

I HAVE aready allowed cookies on my computer - and the metioned file doesn´t exist among my cookies.

Could you please tell me, what´s the matter - this is VERY frustrating [:@]

Update your unzip program and try again.

I think your download file was corrupted during the transfer. I'm sorry to say but your only option is to download it again. Try right clicking on the download link and choose "Save Target As" if using Internet Explorer.  WinXP has built in zip/unzip so that should not be a problem. If that doesn't work try installing Firefox (www.mozilla.com) and use it to get the software downloaded.

I don´t think you get it: I can´t even get to the "download"-link, because of the cookie problem decribed above. The problem is the same, whether I use mozilla or explorer - I have both.

Did you delete all your cookies?

I'd suggest using Firefox and under tools>options>privacy going into the Settings and checking every single box, then clear it all out & restart Firefox, try again.

I had a corrupted download the first time I DL'd PCK from Digital River, and the 2nd time it hung on me at around 79% but the third try was the one.

Hi Umlaut,

Sorry to hear about the trouble you're having. It does sound like the download file is corrupt. What kind of connection are you on? In cases like this, we recommend a download manager like www.stardownloader.com, just make sure it's only set to one download stream at a time.

Regarding re-starting the download, how did you get it to happen in the first place if it's not working now? Have you already tried going to www.findmyorder.com wiith your order info to request a new download link?

Try setting your browser security settings back to default, especially for cookies, then turn off any security software that could be intercepting the cookies, then give it another try. If that doesn't work, please e-mail me at erikr@matrixgames.com with your order info and I'll ask someone from the store to contact you and walk you through it.

Regards,

- Erik

I also had trouble getting a completed download and used this link to finally get it done:

Matrix Games (Digital River) Order Status Page

This seems to get around the cookie problem.

Hi all
It´s working at last [:D] It turned out to be the zip-program after all.

Erik: I tried your link findmyorder.com, and then suddenly I could acces the download page. I then tried to redownload a couple of times, but I still couldn´t unzip the folder. I felt fairly certain, that the problem wasn´t in the unzip programs since I had tried two different newly downloaded programs with the same result: Nil. But when I still couln´t unzip the folder, I decided to try a third program. And that did it.  The program is called justzipit, BTW. Hereby recommended.

I can´t tell you, why I could download the game at first but not at the redownload. I´d actually hoped, you could tell me[;)]. But I think the problem has to do with me not be able to REACH the download page the second time. I tried to access it via here http://www.digitalriver.com/dr/sat5/ec_ ... 43&pn=1#q5

But when I had type my password and order number and hit "find" I just got this message:
"Message 99998 - To protect ourselves against fraud, we need to set a cookie on your computer. In order to continue your purchase online, please reset your browser to allow cookies. You can make your purchase and then set cookies off again in your browser. If you already allow cookies, there may be a problem that can be corrected by deleting the cookie file. 20009SC01"

I had also at the purchase bookmarked the download page. But when I tried to reach the page again I got the same message. But for some reason I could access the page through your link.

Thanks
Umlaut
