Plays, Playbooks Uploaded

Post by hack153 »

i have released my Playbooks onto fbmax.com. file name is "Hacks Plays 1.0", in the unsorted files.

i left the original mf plays in, so it wouldn't effect your current playbooks. there are some minor issues that i am still working on, but i usually get good results. enjoy.

Hack's Plays Version 2 was just uploaded to fbmax.com (under unsorted).  it fixed some minor problems.

I will also be working on a Version 3 when time allows.

Hope these playbooks are useful and make the game a little more enjoyable.

Thanks a ton for this update, Hack.  I've had both your original Weak I and many of your Gun formation plays on offense and your original Dime and 43 defenses in my custom playbook for a long time now.  These updates are great.  In particular, I would highly recommend anyone who is having trouble with QB completion % and sacks using default constants.dat settings to give the offensive plays in your set a long look.  There are quite a few nice passing plays that protect the QB and/or get players open on short patterns quickly, which really help in the realism department.  The profiles are excellent also and help make your plays set a great starting point for the PDS-challenged such as myself.

Only problem I have had since I started messing around with the new release (and it is tiny) is that the new playbook editor won't allow plays of the same name to coexist in a custom playbook, even if the plays are out of different formations.

So, If I use a playbook that has, for example, "HB DIVE" out of the Ace Formation, but want to add "HB DIVE" out of the Strong I formation, I'll either get the "play already added" error message, or it will act as if the play is added, but won't show up in-game.  Maybe this is just happening on my system, but wanted to let you know about this in case you would consider re-naming any of the plays for an updated version 3 or 4 down the road.  As it stands now, I'm just re-naming the plays with a brief prefix (HB DIVE becomes "STR I HB DIVE", and so on).  Thanks again!

Hacks Plays v3

Post by hack153 »

i have been altering my plays and playbooks so all 12 team will have plays designed just for them.

teams will now only share SOME running plays, and most passing plays will be altered in some way.

defensive plays are also be overhauled.  teams will all have different plays plays might have the same name, but different player assignments, and player formation.  example....MAN COVER 1 - now -> BUF M2M C1, DAL M2M C1.  this way, teams that are run stoppers will have more players "reading", or keying on HBs, than if they were a pass coverage or balanced defensive team.

playbooks and groups will be a lot more in-depth than they already were.  it should make for better game play and less 86 yard td passes.

the plays and playbooks won't be out for a month or so, but they should improve anyones gameplay who uses them.

Hack, I have enjoyed your playbooks but I have some suggestions.

First and foremost, on pass plays change your OL blocking.  If you give them move to commands and then pass block commands to form a pocket around the QB, you get much better protection against outside rushes and stunts.  It also allows the QB to scramble forward rather than always around the edge of the line.

Second, establish defensive containment.  Unless you explicitly, tell an outside DE to go around the OL, he will collapse the play and allow easy running outside.

Just a couple recommendations, otherwise very nice and thanks for the work!

I have 6 templates, (T, G, C) for 5 yd and 7 yd drops.

I delay the QB under center for .15 to .25 sec. to draw the outside rushers inside before dropping back because if your OL drop to far back you get a lot of batted down balls.

I'd put on my wishlist for this to be automatic. When I am making plays (which, granted, I don't do much), I would like to just be able to have my O-line pass block (like we did back in the day with FBPro). After all, isn't taking proper angles a function of the OL's ability attributes, including INT?

Hey Deft - you've uploaded some new 43 defenses since the 2.2 release on FBMax.com (thanks for that!) but I haven't seen any updates lately of your offensive plays.

Do you happen to have any updates for your offensive plays that you can share?  In particular, I've enjoyed using some plays from the the 5 wr, spread, ladder, ladder 3wr, and ace slot sets you've done.  Thanks!

yes, I have been play testing them and developing a play analyzer mod.

I have a one back, two TE scheme and a Flex Bone (HB, FB, 3RB) set that is somewhere between the Air Force flex bone and a 4 WR set.  I wanted to refine them and include them as part of the super playbook mod.
