RHS Test Series 10: sub/ASW focus: we have a go

Post by el cid again »

I am about to release an update which - for the first time in any variation of WITP - may have sub survivability fixed. We need to calibrate this - to measure game rates so we may apply a K factor if required - but we should have a METHOD to put us in the ball park.

I need a player interested in running a test game. We can talk about scenario and sides and stuff - I am flexable.

Panzerjaeger Hortland agreed to restart a game that got suspended for outside reasons - test 9A will restart as test 10 A - when we have a new file set (soon). He wants to do Allies again - he likes the focus on small units early in the war - and he does not believe in Sir Robin - I will post his comments below.

Meanwhile OSO indicated interest - but no details yet.

Ive been wanting to play a realistic game against someone who plays realistically. I also enjoy the early game as allied, since you have to spend lots of time planning very small unit-actions. Im not going to do a Sir Robin, since it would never have happened in real life that the Brits just abandoned their holdings or the US just retreated from the pacific...to return a couple of years later in force. In 1941, no one knew where the Japs might have ended up if they were left unopposed... there is a reason why the US forces went to protect Australia first, before they even thought of doing counterattacks. I really dislike the Sir Robin strategy since I find it to be the very definition of gamey.

It appears OSO will do a Japanese turn for EBO -

so I am going to look for Allied national advisors on policy - and possibly more than that -
I don't believe coalition warfare is entirely done from one point of view.

I am also going to post the turns as such to anyone who wants to watch - both games (the one with Panzerjager
and the one with OSO) - if you want to watch the replays and see the reports - or look at the turn in detail
after execution - advise - and I will send the turns with a public password.
