Jeez, how many planes have you lost so far!?
The guy in the other match is losing like a tenth of the planes. How can guerillas with rifles shoot down jets anyway?

That is my one gripe with this game....guys armed with bows and arrows are shooting jets down somehow. The losses are MUCH more than occured in real life. But I figure that it's a game engine bug and not a scenario bug. When they fixed the AAA units to be a bit more "powerful" I think they put too much ooomph in there. About the only way to make this scenario "balanced" for two PBEM players is to play mirror matches ( both players play both sides, one match at a time ) and see who did better or something.
Turn 3 additional info. this link below is UNCLASSIFIED since it shows the placement of every Allied unit on the map with the estimated position of various VC and NVA units.

Wow! You did bring in a boatload of troops. That's 36 EEV's worth of commitment points. You'll probably need a US replacement draft for another 4 EEVs. A commitment level of 30+ will cause you EEV to grow by 2 every 5 turns. Without any bombing campaign or additional troop commitment you will cross the 45 EEV line around the first of the year (1966). That'll be 5-7 months ahead of the historical timeline.
As you have probably noticed the sea transport levels for the US is only 40% of what it was in the previous version (2000 vs 5000) so you will be quite some time getting your forces into action. A slower pace in requesting your forces would put your troops on the ground at about the same pace but with a slightly lower EEV penalty.
On the plus side you gain the Australians, New Zealanders, and Koreans almost immediately and they enter directly in South Vietnam requiring no shipping.
Ron is going to be very miserable for a time but if he plays his cards right he will get to wave bye to US troops ahead of schedule.
