Digging in and LOS

Post by JFalk68 »

If I have an arty unit dig in and deploy on a wide frontage in anticipation of an enemy attack, does my arty unit become harder to spot by the enemy? Do I get a chance at a first strike/ambush by not moving around?

I have read that in the desert, Rommel would often have his 88's dig with just the barrel of the gun a few feet off the desert floor. The haze that would rise up from the floor of the desert would help obscure the 88's making them much more difficult to see. Just wondering if the game models this :)

Thanks
John

Deployed and Dug in units are much harder to detect. Hence they stand a much better chance of remaining undetected while still being able to see a moving enemy.
