Hi Guys
Just got the turn from the Balkans along with his password asking me to surrender for him. Do I do this then play my own turn or are we supposed to look for a replacement?

You can only surrender, not surrender to a player.  When you surrender, all your territory becomes neutral so it does give advantages to neighbors of the surrendering regime.  He might want you to play his side.  Or, we could try to find another player.  You might ask for clarification.
