widescreen support

Is there any possibility that AE will support resolutions other than 1024x768, esp widescreen?

regards

NOw that is a pity, I suppose that would mean going too deep in the game code.

Thx pompack;)

Being able to change the screen resolution would have required a major rewrite of some code right at the core of the game engine.  It was just too big a task to take on with this project.

With a project like this, you have to weigh both the desire to have the feature vs. the effort it takes to do it.  The desire was there, but the effort was too big to justify it.

I understand this. Was just thinking aloud;) I believe the new features will far outweight this one;)

Actually the code at the "core" would have been the easy part. Adjusting the zillions of places where things are put on the screen in pixel specific places would've required too much time. Simple stuff but EVERYWHERE!

Oh, I understand, thank you for explanation. I will not whine about the lack of sidescreeen support than;) Anyway hoping to get a new LCD in few months so I could play in windowed mode on 24 inch panel instead on m 15,4 inch laptop, which makes all the fonts look sooooo small.

I will tell you that it is a lot easier to read on a 24" screen. It is too bad they couldn't change things - but it is what it is.

I'm running on wide screen with no problems other than everthing is stretched. Note I have made no attempt to use 1024x768, just using the bpg standard wide screen resolution.

Lucky me my 32" has a pixel perfect 1024x768 that I can use if needed. The map is the size of a small table. [:D]

Easy. Buy a laptop. Then buy a 32 inch LCD monitor. Plug LCD into laptop. If desired, mount a handle on the monitor. [:)]
