I got my fighters out of Manila btw. 16 were shot down there last turn and I cannot afford to waste the few P-40Es I have when so many of my air units need rebuilding.
Off Shanghai PG Wake tangled with 4 MLs overnight. She came off worst with 2 small calibre shell hits, but both sides broke off the action. Next day she was hit by 2 torpedoes from Jeans and Kates and is no longer a distraction to the Japanese...
All ships are leaving Hong Kong. I have some running for Singapore by various routes and most running directly for Bataan to try to hide while the Mini KB sweeps through the area.
I have started some offensive moves in China and upgraded one I-16 mod 4 unit to the much more capable mod 24. SB-2s will bomb ground troops in Ichang from Chungking, and V-92s will bomb a Jap unit on it's own NW of Nanchang from Changsha.
There is however a potentially big problem. I noticed 6 Soviet subs had sortied (they think they are French btw) and were on their way to Shanghai. I checked and Auto Sub Ops are ON. If Mike cannot fix this we may have to manually check all subs every single turn...
Apologies to all readers, but we are going to restart. The sub control issue is getting worse and time will not make it any better. I had 5 Dutch subs moved by the AI last turn and 7 more Soviet subs sortied to replace the 6 I sent back. One got bombed by a Ki-21 in the turn Mike was working on before our decision too. We are discussing whether to upgrade to 1.3.
I'm using v1.3 and as soon as I can get John to get it installed correctly, we should be golden. [:D]
I'm playing the "dark side" so I'll be talking more with Michael than you. [;)]

Hi Michael
I just saw the present you left in my gmail account. Much appreciated. I will be starting the new AAR in this same Thread as it's only a couple of pages, unless anyone thinks it's better to start a new one?
The turn 0 has gone back to Mike. All I did was turn some things off, formed some AKs into task forces to prevent upgrade and move some formed task forces. I am awaiting my first turn kicking...
It will definitely be yours Michael. Our turn rate is slow and I struggled with turn one last time.
As before, I will post the combat report for day one to share my pain. After that I will post narrative and screenies only...

Well at least he did not get Boise straight away this time. Hopefully it will really bug him...[:D]
I don't think Mike suffered from any mixed feelings - you have made sure he really hates that ship!
I am working through the turn slowly. Here is the day one tale of the tape. It is much better reading than the last time! (well for the AFBs, anyway...)
This is the current sunk ships list. Oklahoma was a surprise. When I get time to watch the movie (after the turn goes back as this turn takes so long) I am expecting to see a magazine explosion after a penetrating hit from an 800kg AP bomb...
PH damage stands at 0/39/68. Most air groups have no planes available to fly and I expect it will get worse as Mike likes to hang around. West Virginia is highly likely to be the next Battlewagon sunk.
3 squadrons at Panama and a further two on the West Coast have relinquished their P-40Bs for P-35s. The P-40B pool has been wiped out and the frontline squadrons have first call on the better birds.
40th Div and 808th EAB have transferred to SOPAC and are preparing for Suva. 47th Engineers (and 105th RAAF Base Force from Devonport, Tasmania) are also now under SOPAC and prepping for Noumea. The US Marine units attached to PacFlt are also preparing for Noumea, Luganville and Koumac. 201st RCT is going to move from Kodiak Island to Dutch Harbor as soon as transports arrive. 161st RCT is prepping for Canton Island.
2 Steel AKs have been handed over to the dockyard for conversion to AR at San Franciso. More will follow as soon as sealift availability improves. 11th BS, with B-17Es has transferred to SWPAC and has staged to Palmyra Island.
Guys, the 3 extra CD units were due to a WiTP Editor glitch. I've fixed it and they now go to the appropriate bases. Sorry about the SNAFU but keep the reports coming and I'll try to fix them ASAP.
John Dillworth: "I had GreyJoy check my spelling and he said it was fine."
Well, that's that settled then.
Carl,
Do you guys have any HR on use of the three inland rivers that start at Diamond Harbor, Hong Kong, and Shanghai?? There are ports upriver you can use and have invaded??
I fluffed the capture of the damaged ships at Manila and overwrote the first page with the second. I had a surprising number of unscathed subs - the S-boats are off to patrol invasion beaches and the others are laying eggs on various Jap doorsteps. I have moved the more important damaged ships to Bataan and left the worst hit/least important in Manila to draw Mike's planes into flak. Damage at Manila is 0/8/8. At Clark it's 0/15/36.
I have moved a blocking force to Lucena as Mike landed at Naga again. I am pushing a unit into Naga to try to eject the Paras quickly, but I think a seaborne invasion is also present, so may have to cancel. 34th and 6th PA Fighter Squadrons are off to Chunking from Clark. All the others are getting out of Dodge as fast as they can. CAP remains at Manila for now.
I am pushing bomber units forward to North and South Borneo, Port Moreby and Menado.
Force Z is running for Batavia for counter-punch duties. The AVG has begun it's move to Singapore, as the Buffs are totally inadequate as fighters. I only produce 26 Hurricanes a month so cannot upgrade my Aussie or Kiwi squadrons.
All air units at Aden are loading for Colombo and 114th RAF Base Force is off to Addu. SEAC is being moved to Calcutta.
