My Liz Daitai flew to Luganville to begin bombardment of Noumea's airfield.

Brings up a question.......what daitai did you upgrade to the Liz. I can't get the plane to come up as an option for any level bomber daitai.

G1 or G2/Takao.  Once you upgrade one of those, any LB Daitai or Chutai can upgrade.

Edit: Navy only (obviously)

Sounds similar to the stock version upgrade path to unlock the LB-30's. 7th BG has to be upgraded first, then any other can use it.

One day all of the manpower, resources and shipyards became damaged, the HI increased to 720 and over 69k damaged HI appeared.  Oh yeah, all of the supply vanished too. It's apparently a known bug.  I had never seen it or heard of it before.

The last turn damaged several ships in the one of Wyndham invasion TFs. To get the units to Wyndham faster the damaged ships have been split out............

4 Apr 42

Sort of a rough day today for the IJN merchant fleet.  With Bruce pushing the envelope off the coast of Burma and Northern Australia, Bob and Niceguy's air forces flew with a vengence.  A total of 15 of our ships were hit:  1 CL (Kashii), 2 PGs, 2 APs and 10 AKs.  While none of them sank, it looks like the PGs and 3-4 AKs may sink later.  To add insult to injury, an AK sank from old damage.

On the other hand, an Allied MSW hit a mine at the port of Suva and sank.  The cat eaten by the mouse! [:D]

On the positive side, we shot down 20 planes of various types.

The Japanese forces at Noumea are gathering strength.  There is now the following present for duty:

1 Gds Mixed Bde
South Seas Detachment
2x SNLF
1x Naval Gd
21 Reserve Eng Reg
1 Mortar Reg
1x Base Force

Within 3 days, the following reinforcements will arrive:

3x SNLF
1x NLF
1x Naval Gd

The current Allied AV has been constant at about 302.  The Japanese AV has jumped from 500 to 654.  With the arrival of the reinforcements, the AV should be ~1000.  At that time, the naval bombardment will commence and KB will pour all of it's Vals and Kates onto the enemy ground forces along with a deliberate attack.

We received the 1/6 Fighter Daitai (A6M3).  Unfortunately, the A6M3 only began producing this month and there were only 11 planes in the pool.  Poof! There go 16 experienced pilots into the ether. [:@]

The I-156 caught a replenishment TF 300 miles NE of Canton and put a torpedo into the AO Sepulga, heavily damaging her.  In retaliation, the Sailfish put a torpedo into an AK and the KXVII put down an AK with 3 torpedoes.  Fortunately, they were both empty.

The Allied air force damaged 2 AKs and an AP off Tavoy and an AK sank from old damage.

Faber took Zamboanga and Bruce landed forces at Wyndham.

Reinforcement:  F2/Genzan Daitai (27x A6M2) for Southern Area and immediately reassigned to Northern Area Force.

The AO Sepulga succumbed to it's torpedo hit yesterday.

Meanwhile, the Allied air force continued to damage our invasion forces.  Allied air craft damaged 4 AKs and a PG while a Dutch sub damaged an additional AK and the DD Humphreys hit the I-5 with a DC.  She'll make port easily, but is out of the war for awhile.

Our troops landed on Wyndham, Noumea, Efate and Munda, while Tacloban was taken.

Pt. Blair's airfield reached level 2 and Kavieng's port reached level 2.

Our AV at Noumea increased to 676 while the Allied AV remained at 303.

Reinforcements:  Yokosuka 8 SNLF (SE Fleet), 139 IJN BF (Southern Area)

Lots of combat today.  Bruces forces continue to land at Wyndham and close on Rangoon, bringing out the Allied air forces.  We lost one MSW and had 10 APs, 2 AKs and an AV damaged  in those two areas.  In addition, a PC and an AK were lost from old damage.  The AK, known as a bomb magnet, took at least 17 bombs of various types since 31 Mar 42. [X(]  She was the Kansai Maru.  She served the IJN well.

On our side, the I-2 put a torpedo into the TK Antietam heavily damaging her off Christmas Island (S. Pacific).  IN addition, Nells sank an MSW and PC (ASW TF I believe) 180 miles North of Darwin.

Attu and Shikuka both increased their airfield levels to 2.

Rangoon Operation:  Bruce has 4-5 Infantry Divisions, 2 Mixed Brigades, 2 Tank Regiments, 2 Engineer Regiments and 3-4 Artillery Regiments headed to Rangoon, as well as a BB Bombardment TF about to arrive there.  Bob will lose his false teeth (if he has any [:D]) when he realizes what's coming.

Noumea Operation:  My AV has increased to 754  while the Allied AV has remained constant at 302.  We're getting close there. [:D] Troops continue to land there.

Bruce assaulted Wyndham today.  The odds were 1:1, decreasing the fort level from 3 to 2 and causing 118 Allied casualties to 0 Japanese casualties.

We took Efate and Munda today (more dot bases).

Other Notes:

The CV Junyo will arrive on 17 Apr 42.  She's accelerated, so that will free up 150 naval construction points.
The Yamato arrives on 1 May 42.  That'll free up 185 points.

Between now and 30 Apr, we will receive (in addition to the above) 1 ML, 3 ARs, 2 APs, 1 MLE, 1 AV, 1 AE, and 2 AKs.

Between now and 30 Apr, we will receive 3 Infantry Divisions, 1 Mixed Brigade, 6 Naval Guard Units and 6 small base forces.

Between now and 30 Apr, we will receive one A6M2 Daitai.

Production Comments:

That data was as of 1 Apr 42.

First of all, note that none of these figures includes the supply, fuel, resources and oil currently in TFs.

Supply and fuel are not a concern.  We still have major offenses going on (Rangoon, North Australia, Noumea).

The HI pool is finally turning around.  I neglected to track oil and resources for a couple of months (RL getting in the way) and China/Manchuria ran low on oil.  That is being rectified as I type with over 250k oil headed toward China or already offloaded there.

Oil and Resources are doing well.  Oil is actually gaining ground with over 300k on ships.

The armaments pool is a concern.  Now that the HI level is increasing about 1500 a day, I'm going to increase armament factories to rectify this.

The vehicle pool is fluctuating a lot due to the tank regiments upgrading to the newer model tanks.  The vehicle factories will be increased a bit shortly to plan for the Tank Divisions which will come later.

Nakajima engines are finally increasing.  A Nakajima shortage is normal for the early months of the war.

The pilot pool is doing great.  The reason for this is that it is very rare for a transport, recon, floatplane or flying boat to get a replacement pilot.  Faber is ruthless with this pool.

Tonight, if I have a chance, I'll make a list of losses on each side.

Hi Mike. Would it be a problem to you to show disposition of fleet in each command? Let's say CV, BB, CA and CL's?

I'm quite curious if fleet is grouped together, and how strong fleet you are keeping in inactive/non crucial theaters.

Only just caught up on this AAR -its a good one!
On Shanghia -not sure if its a bug -this happened to me against Tabpub - but I'd let the garrison fall into the red[:@] -so it may have worked as designed -whats your garrison level for Shanghia?!

Sorry, but no time tonight. I'll do that tomorrow. Been meaning to do that anyway.

Thanks. Glad you like it. It pales in comparison to Cuttlefish, but then, most do. I'm not sure about Shanghai, but it may have turned red for a bit. I tend to keep my garrisons close to the edge.
