A hint?

From the legendary team at 2 by 3 Games comes a new grand strategy masterpiece: Gary Grigsby’s War Between the States. Taking gamers back to the American Civil War, this innovative grand strategy game allows players to experience the trials and tribulations of the role of commander-in-chief for either side. Historically accurate, detailed and finely balanced for realistic gameplay, War Between the States is also easy to play and does not take months to finish.

Well, I travel overseas for work on the 21st, so I reckon the the 21st. Although that's a saturday, so I'll go with 20th June. Just enough time to try and play it without the tutorials or reading the manual, and getnowhere.

[:-]But seriously speaking now, does this game have to go "gold" first. Or beacause of the download option, it doesn't matter?
Will insert when I come up with something witty

In either case there will be a Gold Master. We are working hard to get the Gold Master completed so that boxed games will be available for sale at Origins at the end of June. I don't know the current time it takes Matrix to go from Gold Master to having it ready in their store for Digital Download, so I can't speak to whether it may be ready before Origins (we hope so, but just don't know). Since we don't have a Gold Master ready yet, Matrix obviously can't know for sure about a release date. We are working full out to get the game wrapped up very soon. My AAR with Jon Pyle is on hold at the moment (as much as I want to play it out and see who wins) as I'm busy helping to get the game out the door. Thanks for your interest.

Well, you guys have been doing a good job of promoting this title. I usually don't get behind something before release and preliminary reviews, but you'll have my kopeks on day one.

We went gold over the weekend, a release later today is a distinct possibility, I'd say a release this week is a certainty.

I didn't want to spill the beans and get ahead of the developers, but you see it has gone gold:

The price is US $49.99 - we're currently working through a snag on the DR side. If it takes much longer, we may have to do the release tomorrow. I'll keep you posted.

Ok, just heard from DR and we're going to push the release back to tomorrow morning. We think the problem on their side is solved, but it's prudent to take a little more time to make sure before we set this live.

Sorry for the additional delay, we'll release it as early as we can tomorrow. [8D]

It seems every time there's a much anticipated release, it's always delayed by DR. Are they in collusion with or run by the gov't or oil companies???

Actually, in my last game of "Illuminati", I believe the web/software folks like DR were controlled by the Dentists, make of that what you will. [;)]
