New Beta Testers (June 2008)

Post by Shannon V. OKeets »

Here is the list of new beta testers.

I thank everyone who applied and I regret not being able to accept everyone.

I expanded the number of new beta testers from my original plan for 9 to 12. I expect to solicit one more group of beta testers in the fall (probably September).

Deciding to whom to offer this responsibility is always difficult and it never gets any easier each time we go through the process. What we are looking for are people who have been active in the MWIF forum - the longer and the more active, the better. That let's us judge their interest level in the game, and a whole lot of other issues (e.g., does he play well with others?). For those of you who have only a few posts to the Matrix forum, we have very little information about you that we can use to make this decision. Nonetheless, some of the people on the list are virtually strangers to us. I like the idea of taking a few "lesser knowns".

As shown by the colors, the list includes 5 who have a heavy background in WIF, 5 who have light (or outdated) experience with the game, and 3 WIF neophytes. That corresponds closely to the proportion who applied, about half of the applicants in each category.

This is gonna be sweet!

I figured I should post this, as I'm one of the ones Shannon is talking about when he says:
some of the people on the list are virtually strangers to us

I'll try to up my presence on these boards over the coming months, so I'm less of a stranger [:D]

Steve - what`s the gameplan for getting us new recruits up and running? Not that I`m impatient to get started or anything you understand[;)]

Any word on the status of this from other new testers?

Sent in signed NDA forms to KR a week ago today. His mail said appx 2 days turnaround time.

Not sure if its just taking longer or if my mail didn't get through.

I chased Steve on this yesterday and he said he will check on the status and let me know once he hears from Karlis......I feel like a kid waiting for Christmas.

If you received the NDA from Karlis, then email/spam filters should not be a problem. My logic is simple, you got the first email from him, so you should also get any following emails.

If you did not recieve Karlis' first email, containing the NDA that is to be completed, then let me know (via PM).

But I think most of you are in the position where you completed the NDA and are waiting for account #, passwords, and authorization. As of right now, none of the new beta testers has received that information.
EDIT

At least 2 of the new beta testers have received their information and have downloaded the files.

If any of you have not, after sending in your signed NDA, please send me a PM.
