DTVT's pro offense/43 defense

Post by dreamtheatervt »

Again, it's just easier to host the file myself, so here is the link

DTVT's Pro/43

Offensively, this playbook includes:
I formation (balanced and twins)
FB wing
3WR, 1RB
3WR, 2RB
2WR, 2TE
4WR spread
goalline

Defensive has
3 different 43 fronts
Nickel and Dime packages
Goalline package

Also included are multiple custom punt, punt return, KO return, and Field Goal plays.

I may tweak some plays if needed, but all I need to do is make a profile.

Any and all feedback/compliments/criticism welcomed.

Thanks for the updated files, DTVT.  I hope to have time to try these out this week.  Lots of new stuff to play with in MaxFB lately.

Really like the new 43 fronts thus far - there's a good assortment of looks and nothing looks broken nor do any of the plays seem ineffective (or overly effective).  I'm actually digging the special teams plays as well (fake fg, punt blocks, etc).  I guess the tricky special teams stuff is to be expected from a VT fan's playbook!  [:D]

I still need more time with the plays to form a solid obervation, but the pass blocking seems to be better with the doubles and ace sets this time around.  I played about 3 quarters with them and put up around 25 passes, didn't get sacked once, and the QB had some nice underneath targets to hit.  Receivers are getting open and few patterns are taking them out of bounds - that's always a big deal for me until 3.0 hopefully corrects the WR out of bounds logic.  The QB keeper at the goalline worked nicely for me so far.  Tore off a huge run with a simple HB iso play, run to perfection by the Arizona Cardinals of all teams.  Guess Edge still has a step.

Thanks again, and hope to continue to see more of your plays as you refine them.

Update:

Special Teams blocking AI improved, now works on an "inside seal" principle, which is more realistic and more effective.
Added first generation fake punt/FG defenses (can't make zones, more on this in another thread)

Also, changed the name of the zip file and playbook to better represent what it is.

While I'm working on the profile for this team, I'm going to start on a spread offense and a 335 (think WVU, Memphis) attacking defense for my next project.

Kickoff seems to be frozen. I've tried numerous times with the same result cpu vs cpu.

Huh, I haven't seen that.  I'll try to fix that when I get home.

Great news about the 335 defense - I've been hoping someone would work on a playbook set for that D along with the kind of aggressive 425 we've seen used at TCU and a few other teams lately.

I'll check out the kickoffs also - haven't downloaded the updated .zip yet but didn't have any problems with the kickoff freeze on the first go around.

I fixed the kickoff, it should work now.  For some reason the game switched the kick logic to punt...don't know why, but if it happens again or you don't want to download an entire file just to fix one play, that's the fix.

Thanks.....On another note it seems that my kickoff is filed up with the original "Fun and Gun". Can some one upload this to me.

The same link still works, I just remove the old file and replaced it with the updated one.

You did a great job with all of these plays. The only thing I might do differently is have fewer plays take the outside receivers on out patterns. They often go out of bounds, but that is a small problem. Other than that great job with your playbook and profile. Thanks for updating the link. That kickoff glitch was driving me crazy.
