- a few questions.
where do I begin?
best scenario to start on?
which side to play 1st?
tips and tricks.

(and thanks again to GJK, his mod tipped me into getting this)

I pretty much always start with the 1914 scenario. It gives you the most options. You can decide what front you might want to take an offensive on, or what kind of strategy you want to apply in general. East? West? Or something different? Also you might try to rush on one side and neglect the other, or maybe just get some ressources to be able to fight a long war? And so on.

Start with the Central Powers. Its a little less management, because you don't have to deal with most of the naval stuff and move troops from one side of the map to the other.

Try some games against the computer player first. Then join an email game. Those are much more fun. Feel free to ask questions or for advice here. Its a great game.

The Strategic phase is pretty important <after the first one, where you can't really do much>. You'll have to play through a couple of games to get used to it. Note that each turn has a different number of impulses -- Jan/Feb only has one and it's usually adverse weather, so it's more of a building turn. The summer months have 3-4 so you might end up spending lots of HQ points.

I'm still trying to master building the HQ points in advance of these summer pushes, as production to arrival is different for the various categories. Good luck -- it's really fun.

Thanks for the replies, I'll probably bore you all to tears with my banal noob questions.
The mod I'm referring to is the alternate map and 'nato' counter sets.
(I'm a fan of GJK's work, and use his graphic mods on Advanced Tactics also).
