Vista UAC and WBTS seems weird

Post by Crimguy »

Every time I try to run WBTS, either from the quick start icon or the main icon, Vista's UAC is asking for permission. I've never had this problem before. In fact, I've only seen it with installers. Any way to fix?

Vista 64 here, hadn't really noticed it but I have to ok the game to run too.  It's got a little shield icon on the exe for me so it thinks it needs admin rights.  Seems like it shouldn't need admin rights though as it's not in program files folder or accessing files there or other restricted areas.  Perhaps it's not 'vista' aware.

I thought this could be fixed by making sure to run the installer.exe as admin, then you wouldn't get the pop up for privilege, but don't quote me on that.

never mind, don't know what I was thinking as it's going to need admin rights to install no matter what, so I don't know what it is.
