I'm beginning to think that I may want to go back to PDUs off.
I like PDUs on, but think the Allies in particular need to be careful not to abuse the system.

Edit: but then I would accept a tad less realism for the sake of a little more variation of game play.

I'm kind of curious what a non-PDU game would be like. All mine are with PDUs on. It would definitely be different.

My current game with Saso is non-PDU. So while I am sitting with about 100 P-38s, they aren't being assigned to the squadrons (and I really, really need them). You are kinda locked into what you get, even when you have better A/C sitting in storage. Kinda irritating really. [:@]

I live in hope that AE will fix most of these problems, but will not hold my breath, house rules is all ways a good Thing. (The Tony was a good fighter but to few numbers early in the war and poor maintenance held this P40 killer back)

What is this disturbing trend with resurrecting old, should-have-stayed-dead, threads?

Very, very frustrating for everyone. You sitting there with 200+ of something but your operational group are only half full with other somethings but you can't do anything about it.

If this is what is going to happen, I'd better give up now.
The only Allied advantage are the heavies, if the Japs can negate that as well ... it's game over.
There's no way the P-38 replacement rate can be compared with the custom one made by the Japs.

You semes to have Very low Combat Morale. Good you play the Allies.

Fact is, that the Allies Get Huge Huge Huge Quantetyes of alot, so Winning Air Suppiriority should be no Problem for you in the Long Run.

Another Fact, is that if you want the Japanese Player to Fly Wrround with Nates and Oscars... Then I dont think you want a real Fight, but rahter a Walk Over.

Being the Allies, is in the long run almost a Given Victory, Allowing both sides to have PDU on, is only making it a slightly harder Fight.

I would recommend you to try to Play as Japan a few times, I have Endured 622 Days of Hevy Bombing Runs on Japan in Previus Games, and it is a part of being Japan...
But I managed to Hold Out Untill I only had Only One City Left on Mainland Japan, All other were Captured by the Allies.

I think any Allied Player who Prefere PDU Off, Should Try to Play as Japan a Few Games.

I haven't played for w while i started a new CHS game 2 months ago... im in March of 1942 and have 200 usless B-25's in Pool while i lack fighters the allied player should be able to swith the production somehow becouse from what i remeber playing japs in 1944 i was able to produce over 400 Hayate Fighters 200 Zakes and additionaly over a hunderd Tonys and Gorges + lots of bombers a month and i only conquered the historical places on the map... This game gives a large handicap to the japs in terms of production. So what my pilots were 30 or less exp. if i threw 600 fighters into the fray they were able to stop the allies or force them to winthrawal as their plane pool was running empty...

I hate that, too.
How nice would it be to have some possibilitys there - at least as an option to activate in the menu? It shouldn't be as easy as with Japan to change the production, but it should be possible. I don't believe that the US would keep on producing bombers of a type that's barely used while there's the urgent need for fighters...

Well... The Thing is... US would never had a Urgant Need for Fighters...
Thay would had many many many many Fighters to Pick from all over the Plase...

The US Indistrual Power in 1941-45 is almost as Large as the Sovjet + the British Combined.
(1.74 Million Man Hours pr SSE vs 1.91 Million Man Hours pr SSE)

Now despite everything the western societyes have teatched thair kids in the "after WW2 times", the Fact is:

Soviet Won WW2 !
What Actualy did the Allies Manage?? Destroying Syntetich Oil Production and Invading Italy, and Destroying little Japan.
Regarding German Indistrual Power, Thay Prodused More Planes in November 1944 then thay did from 1937-1943.

The Allies Financed the War However, Payed Money and Machines... Sovjet Blood Won it.
