First one was on the 1st turn, when the Union AI was making its moves (as reported earlier). Second one just occurred, during the production phase of my first turn as CSA. I was on the production screen, selected Virginia, then Petersberg, then selected "build factory". Got a message that "WBTS has stopped working." Running Vista SP1, GF8800GT, 2GB ram, Intel C2D 2.5GHz (overclocked).

It has been stable as a rock so please try to avoid blaming the overclocking. It is a modest overclock at best, as I've gotten this chip to perform stably at about 3GHz.

OK, not fair to not allow you to blame my overclock.  I suppose it's a factor, and OCing your computer can have strange results and stability issues at odd times.  I'll retract that comment ;-D

My first concern here would be your audio driver, which is from 2006. We saw instability on our Vista test system until we upgraded to a much more recent audio driver. Can you see if there's a newer version available for your system?

I have played the game for over 20 hours, using vistaSP1, w/ latest audio drivers; 1st turn playing the union, the game crashed; 1st turn playing as the confederates, the game crashed when the Union Ai was moving. other than those 2 times, no problems.
