Wounded leaders escape capture?

If a player suceeds in creating & eliminate a pocket the surviving enemy leaders are captured. If i read the report correctly the wounded leaders somehow manage to slip through the enemy lines and will be back in action a couple of months later?? (see atached screenshot)

The captured leaders are returned to play as well just as wounded leaders are. IIRC the delays involved are the same (same formula to determine the delay). It assumes leaders are being exchanged.
