Make the graphic motif optional?

Any chance that the current motif might be made optional for something a bit easier to read?
The weathered paper look is really putting me off. Also, the production/politcal/leader menus only
use up 1/4 of the screen (at least on my monitor), with the remaining 3/4 used up by a simulated
wood background. Seems like a waste of space.

Have you tried full screen?

FWIW, that's the way mine works too in windowed mode, but it fills the screen in full screen mode.

(My monitor is 24" widescreen set at 1920x1200).

Maybe it would be nice to have an option for "down to earth" or "atmospheric" graphics.  But I wouldn't hold my breath.
