Any chance for a more detailed pilot history?

It seems like the game already keeps track of pilots very nicely ("bails out and captured" etc.). Still, later, the only thing I find is how many kills the ace pilots have, or whether they were KIA/MIA.

Why not add all the additional info, like:

- "bailed out and was captured" while flying escort on attack on Yorktown
- "shot down and killed while flying LR CAP over Buna"
- "pranged on landing when returning from troop transport from Rabaul to Lunga"

etc.

Also other info like which type of aircraft a pilot did fly at the time of an event, how many planes he lost etcetc would be great!

IMO, having all this info at our fingertips would breathe more "life" into those guys, and would greatly add to the overall "being there" atmosphere of the game.

But why do we even get the message "Ltd. Yadayadayada bails out and is captured" if we cannot look it up later in the top pilots screen?

At least the info the game is displaying/keeping track of anyway should be filed IMO.

And about the important issue of the adresses of the wifes: don't forget you are paying them a visit more than 50 years later! :D

Oh, but you can! That's why your pilots can be tagged with such pregnant acronyms as WIA, KIA, and even MIA! :p

Hey, it's not that I had missed that! :p
It's just not as detailed as I would like it to be.

What inspires me in this is that in CAW (... gulp, I can already see the tomatoes zooming in on me for that ... ), the info was stored in formats like "shot down from CAP by Enterprise", "pranged on takeoff" etc.

But ok, as I'm seemingly alone in my desire for more pilot related detail, I'll drop it.

Hartmann, your not alone, I agree with you . It would be nice to have more details on pilots and aircraft (where, when and how lost) including more detail on operational losses. Currently, only top pilots are shown on the summary screen (I think). I don't think it would be to difficult to add this level of detail. Hopefully, it will be added down the road in a future patch or at least we can hope it makes it into WitP.

most of the top japanese pilots were dead by the middle of 1943.
There were some b-29 interceptors who amazingly survived till the end of the war.

Some of those B-29 interceptors main tactic was to ram the B-29s and even some of them survived the war. I remember reading of one guy who rammed 6 B-29s ( in separate planes ) and survived the war. I guess he rammed his wing into them ?

I also would like to see more info on what each pilot has done during the battle

but one area as to why I think this would not be done, is in BTR, we have found out that there is a top limit to the number of pilots the data base can hold, once it reaches that number, it just goes back though the data base and starts to dump the KIA/MIA pilots

so while we may be able to get them to get the game to add in more info for us to play with, it will end up getting dumped down the road while the war is still going on

With all the additional pilots in WitP this does not seem like it would be feasable. Actually it seems like overkill in UV.

You wanna have more fun with the game - keep a squadron diary. Do some of the work yourself.

It would be nice, and add more flavor to the game, but I think the return on code investment would not be worth it. Sure, Hartmann and two or three others would read through it but that's about it.

I agree with Sonny, having an extra detailed pilot list is a nice to have but not really needed, I doubt i would ever look at it. Plus if it slows the release of WITP by even 1 day...forget it:) Think of the thousands of pilots that participated in the war...that would be a list from hell, I'll be surprised if even what we have gets carried forward.
