How to change which plane to upgrade to?

Hi there. I am playing stock.

Now when I look at my lovely Nates and Oscars I notice something weird. I see that some will upgrade to Tonys and some will upgrade to the updated Oscar. This is true for both airframes.

Is there a way to speciify which airframe you want to squadron to upgrade too in stock? If possible I would obviously like them to upgrade to Tonys and Tojos.

Also if I say do not produce any of the upgraded Oscars will the squadrons just sit forever in the antiquated old fighters and not choose another airframe to upgrade too?

You have to have Player Defined Upgrades on (set in the options screen before starting the scenario), and then you just click on the line of text where it says what the group is set to upgrade to in order to change it.

well bugger. I am 6 months into the game. Thought that was going to be the answer but was not sure.
