Can we get a fire commander button

From the legendary team at 2 by 3 Games comes a new grand strategy masterpiece: Gary Grigsby’s War Between the States. Taking gamers back to the American Civil War, this innovative grand strategy game allows players to experience the trials and tribulations of the role of commander-in-chief for either side. Historically accurate, detailed and finely balanced for realistic gameplay, War Between the States is also easy to play and does not take months to finish.

Can we get a fire commander button

Post by satisfaction »

So Halleck got his butt handed to him in Kentucky (big surprise) and I dismissed him, only he reappeared later after his dismissal ran out. I like this feature, it makes great sense...for example McDowell and other generals becoming corps commanders later. However sometimes I'm just so irritated at them I'd like to send them to Dakota to fight Indians for the duration. Would it be possible to have a permanent removal button?

I'm half kidding, but if it would be an easy add it would be great.[:'(]

I read the rules and it says if you dismiss an officer with no command he goes away for 18 months I believe.

Can we get a fire commander button

Why, yes, it is in the works! It will have a little pop up screen with a guy that looks an awful lot like a NY State real estate developer and he'll point and say, "You're Fired!!" He will wearing the respective garb of whatever side you're playing. [:)]

That will be in version 1.09.05.06

As the CSA, I have "fired" a couple of commanders by strat-moving them past Union gunboats (and clicking yes after the op-fire warning).

For some reason, they don't come back from their little forays into the water...

You are a sick, sick man. Poor pixelated generals probably never see it coming. Happy at their new assignment and full of high spirits...

We must act... against the Sioux, even to the extermination of men, WOMEN and CHILDREN.The more Indians we can kill this year, the less will have to be killed next year. They all have to be killed or be maintained as a species of paupers.- w.t. SHErMAN

Excellent ! [:D] But this really shows the necessity for a real "Fire guy" button [:'(] : how can the US do ? [:D]

I managed to temporarily lose Sherman (luckily only wounded) by strat moving him using River movement past some confederates who must have had heavy artillery. So it is doable as the US.

If you dismiss a Unit commander (non AC/TC leader), the leader gets a 50 delay, so he's out of the war (and it costs nothing).

Excellent, guess I have only gotten really mad at AC and TC....aka Halleck and Fremont. Guess it works for me as is.
