Cross of Iron doesn't react at all

Post by Baskaatje »

I've Dl'ed and installed CoI, no problem here (also installed the extra's as recommended). Starting up from the command centre, no problem.

But then: sometimes the program 'hangs' after I click "play". I get a black screen, a mouse cursor but nothing else.
When I crtl-alt-del I see that "CoI doesn't react" and I close the game. When I restart by clicking the "play" button again it just starts fine.
Then later when I want to play again, I click "play" on the command centre and nothing happens at all. I hear a click, but nothing happens! I can try the cc3.exe in the program map, it gives an error warning "cannot initialise application (0xc0000005). Click OK to end application".
When I install CoI anew, it works fine a few times, but then suddenly doesn't work anymore! This afternoon I played part of my grand campaign just OK. I finished the game after a scenario and quit the game. When I tried to start again two hours later, it doesn't respond anymore!!

I've tried the suggestions in the support Q&A FAQ: ctrl + clicking, using the compatibility Win98 mode, but no result.

Please help!!

Bas

Ps: I run Win XP Sp2 on a celeron 1,73 with 2 Gb RAM

1. Register your game first.

2. email  support@matrixgames.com

There are some patches at closecombat.matrixgames.com/CoI/coimods.html but, their FTP services don't seem to be working yet, Matrix is in the process of changing/upgrading their servers.

I've registered the game and I will email them.
I'll also look into the mod section you mentioned.

Thanks,

Bas
