WWII

Post by jeffk3510 »

This may seem out of place, seeing as though AE isn't even released yet. I was just curious as the capabilities of a war game with this engine for the entirety of WWII; all theaters of war with all the major players with the whole world represented?

I know this is kind of odd, just thinking about it the other day... would be very cool tho :)

You're not the first to think this thought, believe me. It's not feasible, though.

The land combat engine would not be up to it.

The first turn alone would take 8 months just to plan and setup! I'm not sure I'd even want to play it![8|] I think a better plan would be for other theaters, like the med (AKA Bomb Alley), Battle of the North Atlantic, and Korea. I'd would really like to see is Harpoon Classic meets WITP/UV, something a little more detailed than North Atlantic 86.

The lc engine would be ginormous.... I got to thinking about it because I just bought a book about the War in North Africa.. and thought man, could WiTP engine do a game on this whole scale... if so I would retire (im 22...[:D])

The land combat engine in AE is much better than stock, and probably could handle the different forms of combat in different theatres (in spite of some people's opinion). However, the entire world in 40-mile hexes? No thanks.

In real life, the Order of Battle for WW2 was... confused.

I can't imagine trying to get all those units that were disbanded and reformed into different units all ironed out, worldwide.

Anybody got the artwork for the Peruvian Navy? I accidently deleted mine.

There is many divs in the world in flames take a new look with and open mind. is nothing like the old board game. the map in 50,000 hexs and will just as complex as AE.Can be up to 6 players or just you and the AI.

I don't think you should claim that MWiF is "just as complex as AE".

It doesn't make any sense, Admiral. Were we better than the Japanese or just luckier?
