Game crashes on first turn.

First, I updated drivers for my sound card and video card.

All tutorials ran fine. I had the computer play a game against itself, and it ran fine.

I tried to play my first game against the AI, and the game crashes on the first turn.

I already sent in the dxdiag file to the recommended email address.

I'm running Windows XP.

Anybody else having this problem?

Are you playing the Union, or the Confederates, when it crashes? I had some problems with the game crashing on the first turn, when I was playing it on my laptop, as the Confederates against the Union AI. It happened a couple of times in a row, as the Union was moving all its ships down into one of the Gulf Coast sea zones. I switched to the low res textures after that, and didn't have the same problem occur.
