First time PBEM'er STILL looking for IJ opponent - CLOSED

Post by whippleofd »

I have recieved some good feed-back as to why folks might have been put off by my first offer for a game. Most notably, I "assumed" that certain standard house rules are in place for most games.

So here's what's most important to me:

1) I want to play Allies because this is my first PBEM. Firm

2) I don't want to play the land war in China/Burma/India, I want to play the WiTP. Firm

3) There is a differance between a military possibility and a military impossibility. Firm

4) The magic move has never sat right with me. Lets see if we can work something out here. Negotiable

5) I want to play Big-B's mod with AB's extended map. The sole reason is that I've never played that mod before, so I figure it will be the most fun, for me. Negotiable

I understand your reluctance to do land combat and that would probably be fine for most if you were taking Japan. However, for the Japanese player, China is like the third leg of a three legged stool. As any engineer knows, a three legged stool is one of the more stable devices to sit on and you have removed it. When I play Japan I get to rampage through China, gathering victory points, more resource and oil, all the while distracting my opponent and adding to the exp of my pilots and troops. Once China is destroyed, those troops can be bought out and transferred to forward bases in the other two legs.

I understand, that is why I am willing to hand over most of China to my opponent.
