Askin' for a disk...please.

SPWaW is a tactical squad-level World War II game on single platoon or up to an entire battalion through Europe and the Pacific (1939 to 1945).

Askin' for a disk...please.

Post by Boseafus »

Hi,

I can't get the PCGAMER CD to work on my laptop but it works fine on my Desktop. I have tried 3 disks from the store but nothing is working. My laptop is a P2 300 but the only file that appears on the disk is a music file. Anyway, if you have a copy of just the SPWAW files on a CDROM I would be greatful. Please let me know if you would be willing to send me one.

Thanks.

I have sent out a few CD's and can send you one, but first I have a question: If 3 CD's haven't worked, why would this one? Instead of the executable you just want to transfer the whole game? I don't understand why you can't just transfer it from your desktop to your laptop using "Direct Cable Connection". It would be the same thing.

Those PC Gamer disks are real sketchy. On a lot of cd-rom drives they dont work. I'm not surprised.

Don,
Thanks so much for your offer. I don't know why I didn't think of a cable transfer. I will try that (I have never done it but so I guess I'm not sure if I need to go by some special software and cable).
As far as the PCGAMER disk goes....I was hoping someone just had the game alone and not the PCGAMER program that opens it. I think thats the problem.

I will let you know what happens.

Thanks.

Those PCGamer apps are slow and buggy. You can generally just open the CD in your Windows Explorer, navigate to the proper directory and run the .exe found there. It bypasses all of the PCGamer malarky altogether.

Good luck!

You do need a cable for the DCC transfer, the software is already there (or should be). If I were you I would as Pillbox said just try and transfer the game files without the other stuff. You can see if it works, and if not try it another way.

If nothing works, send me your address and I will send you a brand spanking new CD with my version 4.0, which has been patched up from one ofthe earlier versions.
